Misty Dieckow and Jamie Pooley are a mother and daughter-in-law duo that share a love for all animals. They are both dog moms that believe pets are members of the family, and they understand the importance of your pet’s comfort and safety. It is from that belief that they began St. Hedwig Paw Country Boarding and Daycare

Misty and her husband Johnny have raised their three amazing children in St. Hedwig where they made their home in 1995. Johnny has worked in the community for 35 years at St. Hedwig Feed and Supply. Misty has previous experience working for small animal veterinarians and has spent the last 18 years raising their family and working at East Central ISD as a special-needs transportation monitor.

Misty and her family have a passion for pets of all kinds as well as farm animals. They are very involved in FFA with their children and have raised and shown horses, hogs, cattle and turkeys across the state. Misty is certified in the following: CPR and First Aid for dogs and cats, safe group play in the pet care facility, managing group play, and professional pet boarding level one and two. Misty is excited for the opportunity to meet and care for your pets.

Jamie is a first generation Texas A&M grad along with her fiancé Koy. While working towards her bachelors degree she volunteered at her local veterinary mixed animal practice. Jamie pursued an interest in animal health and worked three years at the Texas A&M Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She was radiology certified to operate and assist with canine and feline radiographs, MRI’s and assisted with ultrasound exams.

Jamie’s experience working in a veterinary hospital environment allowed her to gain a wealth of knowledge in animal anatomy and proper sanitation procedures. Jamie is now certified to perform CPR and First Aid on both canine and felines. Jamie believes pet health is important for their longevity of life and to share special moments with their friends they get to meet at Paw Country.
